Road Trip 2002

Route MapDay Twenty-One

Ferron, UT - St. George, UT
Date:
07/01/2002
Distance: 320 miles
Weather: Mostly sunny and hot. High 90's. At one point, the car thermometer read 110. No joke.

Not the best night's sleep in the car- but we did get an early start. A quick stop for provisions and we were on our way to southern Utah.

We stopped in Cedar City for info, gas, and lunch. All three came with us on the climb up to Cedar Breaks National Monument. We had a lunch with a view, and then spent some time exploring this very cool and temperate natural wonder.

Our day ended in St.George, Utah (the very south-western corner). We checked into a Days Inn, took a swim in the pool, and went out to dinner at the Pasta Factory. But when we got there they seemed to have become the Pizza Factory instead. Oh well.

A quick run to Target ten minutes before closing bought us some necessities and a new tent. Corin's old tent served her well for nine years, and could just not compete with those Utah canyon winds. Back to the hotel for a good night's sleep- with air conditioning.

Corin and Ogden hop in the water (just above the kneecaps) before we take off. A picnic lunch at Cedar Breaks National Monument.

A walk with the dog. The ampitheater at Cedar Breaks National Monument.

Cedar Breaks revisited The other side of Cedar Breaks- a lovely 77 degrees.

A treat. Days Inn with A/C and a pool. Corin continues her solo synchronized swimming routine.

This isn't at noon, it's 110 at 8:30 pm A 10:00 pm run to the Target for a new tent.
